We left Scripps Ranch early, the drive up was uneventful. We made stops every couple of hours. We first stopped at the 395/15 junction near the Cajon pass, a few hours later near Lone Pine and then again near Lee Vining.
The rest of the day was spent setting up camp and having a bite to eat.
