Troop 301 50 Miler Award

Check out the new Troop 301 50 miler award.

Scouts that would like to earn the award would have the same requirements as the National Award, but would NOT have the constraints on the trip being at least 5 days in length. (50 non-motorized miles, 10 hours of outdoor service)
Participants in the November 2008 canoe trip down the Colorado can earn the troop award instead of the national award, as that trip was not 5 days in length.
Some scouts who have already earned the national award have expressed interest in earning this patch as well at the national award. Those Scouts who have covered 50 miles twice in trips can earn the award by doing a 2nd set of 10 hours of trail work.

Scouts who do 50 miles (in 5 or more days) and 10 hours of service outdoors could pick either the National or the Troop award patch.
The new troop patch is similiar to the discontinued National patch award, which is the one Dr. Bryon earned in 1975 (yep . .ancient history!).
