SR2DaC! Sunday, December 20th! The 8th Edition!!!
It was AWESOME! The trails were good, and the food and company even better!
24 Scouts and Scouters did this 20 mile trek!
The trip started with a couple of laps around the park, then up and around through the streets in Scripps, down to the canyon between Scripps and Poway. From there under the 15 to PQ canyon all the way to Sorrento Valley then north past the slew and following it west to Torrey Pines State Beach.
Highlights included:
*Great Aid Stations!!!! HUGE thanks to Mrs. Klingenberg, Mrs. Todd (and Justin), Mrs.Zimmer (and Nathan), Mr. Bosworth (and Luke), The entire Ringel family, and Mrs. Klug!
*As is befitting of December: “Snow” (seed pods at the West exit of Penasquitos Preserve) and “Ice!” (Large patches of Ice Plant. . in bloom even!!!).
**Great job and thanks to Crew Leader David Mosely for the route finding, pace setting, and surviving Dr. Bryon’s puns yet again!
*The infamous SWEEPS were at it again, as the “12 Days Of Christmas” song became “The 8 Hours of Scripps Ranch To The Sea!”
