(A note about a possible Philmont Trek in 2011: our 2009 Trek was amazing, but what allowed it to go well was our strong, well prepared crew. Do not be blinded by the glamour of reputation of a trip to this Scouting Paradise: one must be a strong and well prepared hiker/camper/cook to go on these adventures. We required prep hiking and prep trips for the 2009 crew, and these turned out to be absolutely ESSENTIAL to the success and well being of the crew.).
