Troops 301, 626, 648, 676 and Pack 675 will be participating in a Memorial Day ceremony at El Camino Memorial on May 23rd (Saturday). This is a perfect opportunity for scouts to honor our veterans and learn the meaning of Memorial Day. We will have a joint ceremony with four Boy Scout Troops and one Cub Scout Pack and will be planting small flags over veteran’s graves. The boys will have ample time to read the markers and get a better appreciation of this holiday.
We will park in the parking lot at El Camino and walk up to the Veteran’s Vista. There will be a short ceremony starting at 8:30 am after which Cub Scouts will mix in with the Boy Scouts and plant flags over the graves. The entire event should be over by 10 am. The boys should be in their Class ‘A’ uniforms for this event. Please bring water and sunscreen. Please plan to arrive at 8 am as we have to walk up to the Veterans Vista.
