We were wait listed for Philmont in 2011. Dr Bryon sent an inquiry to the Council Coordinator for thePhilmont contingent about the logistics for 2011.
The boys at the Venture Patrol ice cream meeting seemed VERY excited about the Florida Sea Base brochure that they saw. There are a number of options, including island adventures, scuba (different levels!), tall ships, etc. We do not know if we can have different Scouts/Scouters doing different programs (my guess is that on some we can, but not for the ones with the tall ships, etc.).
Scouters, if you are interested in working with Marvin Ordonez and Tim DeRego and Harrison Trubitt on exploring these, pleaseget in contact with them and myself. The Scouts need to be 14 by the time of the trip in 2011. ..
Minimum age appears to be 14 BY the event for SCUBA, and 14 by Sept. 1st for other adventures
It looks like it is like Philmont, in that “Crews,” (meaning the group from a Troop or Venture Crew) have minimum and maximum numbers for each adventure.
